Job summary

Ponaganset High School in Glocester, Rhode Island, is seeking an Co-Ed Outdoor Track & Field Assistant Coach. You will help student-athletes develop skills and values such as discipline, teamwork, and academic performance while building a successful team and fostering personal growth.

The role reports to the Athletic Director and Principal and involves after-school/evening hours, supervision of athletes, and collaboration with staff on practices and events.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching adolescent age students in competitive sports.
• Must complete updated National and State BCI Check.
• Current & Valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate.
• NFHS coaching safety and ethics courses completed (annual updates).
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individuals, small groups and teams in required skills.
• Supervises team members and teams at all times.
• Knows RI IL regulations and district policies.
• Supports academic performance alongside athletic development.
• Models respectful conduct toward officials and opponents.
• Coordinates with athletic director and other coaches on practices and games.
• Informs AD about facility, equipment and uniforms condition.
• Communicates with AD about team issues.
• Delegates coaching responsibilities to assistants.
• Performs other duties as assigned by athletic director and principal.
