Job summary

Ponaganset Middle School is seeking a Tennis Assistant Coach for after-school and evening programs in Glocester, RI. You will work with co-ed tennis participants to develop skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while prioritizing academics and personal growth.

Responsibilities include coaching individuals and groups, coordinating with the Athletic Director, and ensuring safety and respectful competition in line with RIIL regulations. This role emphasizes mentorship and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching adolescent age students in competitive sports.
• Current & valid First Aid/CPR/AED certificate is required.
• NFHS coaching-related courses or equivalents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants, small groups and teams in skills for success.
• Supervises team members and teams at all times.
• Adheres to RI Interscholastic League regulations and district policies.
• Monitor academic performance and stress high academics and leadership.
• Serve as a role model and communicate with athletic director about team issues.
• Schedule practices and games with the athletic director and other coaches.
• Inform athletic director about facilities, equipment, and uniforms.
• Communicate regularly with athletic director on team topics.
• Delegate coaching tasks to assistants and volunteers.
• Perform other duties as defined by the athletic director and principal.
