Job summary

IDEX is seeking a skilled Precision Machinist to join our CNC Turning Team in Minnesota. You will produce tight-tolerance parts, primarily from aluminum, steel, and plastics, and support R&D, product development, and customer needs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong CAM software skills, and proficiency with turning centers and Bridgeport-style mills. A fast-paced environment and safety-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in close-tolerance machining.
• Proven operational and programming proficiency (CAM software).
• Experience with Turning Centers.
• Experience with Bridgeport-style conventional milling machines.
• Practical experience manufacturing components for production environments.
• Strong collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Management.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, rapid-turnaround setting.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate machining equipment to produce parts with tight tolerances.
• Operate and maintain milling and turning centers for a wide variety of parts.
• Perform quick-turn prototyping on CNC and conventional machines.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure design intent and manufacturability.
• Analyze processes and suggest improvements for scalability and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections with precision measurement tools.
• Maintain safety standards and contribute to a high-performance team.
