Job summary

METAL CRAFT in Elk River, MN is seeking a Turning Machinist for the first shift. This full‑time position in the Turning department requires setting up and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision metal and plastic parts.

The ideal candidate has an Associate Degree in machining or equivalent experience, 2–5 years CNC machinist work, and the ability to read blueprints with GD&T. Overtime on Fridays is common; we offer health, dental, vision, 401K, profit sharing, holiday pay, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in machining or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2-5 years of CNC machinist experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and reading blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of machines in the Turning department to perform turning, boring, threading, and facing on metal and plastic work pieces.
• Read blueprints, job routings, and run sheets to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling, speeds, feeds, and tooling selection.
• Identify and replace dull tooling, adjust offsets, and manage multiple machines when required.
• Document Quality Control characteristics and ensure parts meet tolerance specifications.
• Collaborate with team to improve efficiency and maintain safety and quality standards.
