Job summary

METAL CRAFT in Elk River, MN is seeking a Turning Machinist for the Turning department. The role involves setting up and operating turning machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality control for metal and plastic parts. Monday through Thursday 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM with overtime on Fridays; non-exempt, hourly paid.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in machining or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2–5 years CNC machinist experience.
• Proficient reading of blueprints and job routings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of turning machines.
• Read blueprints and routings to determine tolerances and tooling.
• Load tools, adjust offsets, and ensure tool wear lengths are correct.
• Perform quality control and document tolerance measurements.
• Other duties as assigned.
