Job summary

UMC in Monticello, MN is seeking a Turn Machinist to set up and operate turn machines with precision, meeting production goals and maintaining safety. You’ll troubleshoot, document results, and support continuous improvement in a collaborative, growth‑minded culture.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent machining experience, 2+ years as a machinist, and familiarity with GD&T and G-code/M-code. Join a team that values great people and going beyond expectations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Machining or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of machinist experience.
• Turn experience with Mori Seiki or DMG Mori preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic maths.
• GD&T proficiency and G-code/M-code knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate machines for all jobs, ensuring quality and production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot production issues with support from Supervisors and Engineers to maintain flow.
• Conduct in-process inspections and document results to meet specifications.
• Assist Machinists in diagnosing and resolving technical issues during machining operations.
• Maintain a safe working environment and uphold safety culture.
