Job summary

PTC is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate machine tools to produce precision metal parts. You will read blueprints, lay out work, and perform progressive machining with very close tolerances under minimal supervision.

Candidates must have CNC programming experience, ability to use precision tools, and understand metals properties. The role requires flexibility, strong math skills, and adherence to quality and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have CNC programming and operating experience.
• Must be capable of setting up and operating all machine tools.
• Progressive machining experience with close tolerances.
• Ability to determine operation sequence from drawings/sketches.
• Proficient with machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of materials properties and fitting/assembling as needed.
• Able to lay out work from drawings or written instructions.
• Must work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up machine tools for machining metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Perform progressive machining with close tolerances.
• Report maintenance issues and suggest improvements.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, or written specs to lay out projects.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of the work area.
• Contribute to quality goals under PTC Quality Management System.
