DI in Overland Park, KS is seeking a CNC Tech II to operate and set up CNC machines, interpret drawings, and assure quality per specifications. The role emphasizes independent program execution, routine troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards in a fabrication environment.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of CNC experience, familiarity with G-code/M-code, and OSHA 10 certification is a plus. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a strong focus on reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience with operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code preferred.
• OSHA 10 certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows all safety policies, procedures, and shop standards.
• Sets up CNC machines including tooling, fixtures, and material placement per job specs.
• Runs CNC programs independently with minimal supervision.
• Verifies zero points, tooling, and material orientation prior to cutting.
• Interprets production drawings and job packets with minimal guidance.
• Performs in-process and final quality inspections for dimensional accuracy and finish.
• Troubleshoots routine machine, tooling, and material issues.
• Adjusts feeds, speeds, and toolpaths as needed (approved).
• Performs routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and tooling replacement.
• Maintains compliance with SOPs, workflows, and quality standards.
• Escalates production challenges as needed.
• Collaborates with production, engineering, and fabrication teams to support workflow.
