Job summary

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a skilled CNC Set Up II to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machining centers to fabricate metal and nonmetal parts. You will interpret drawings, select tooling, program machines, run tests, and ensure quality while meeting production schedules.

The role requires advanced knowledge of CNC processes, tooling setup, and troubleshooting, with a strong technical background, detail orientation, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience setting up CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code) and CAM software.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and tolerances.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, models and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines for production runs and select tooling.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements.
• Install/adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and accessories per job specs.
• Program CNC machines using CAM software or manual techniques.
• Conduct test runs and verify accuracy with measurements.
• Monitor processes and adjust for quality and schedules.
• Troubleshoot tooling, equipment, or programming issues.
• Collaborate with teams to identify process improvements.
• Train junior operators on setup and operation techniques.
• Perform routine CNC maintenance and adhere to safety protocols.
