Job summary

JBT Marel Corporation is seeking a CNC Team Leader to supervise the CNC machining area, drive safety, and maintain high-quality production across shifts. This role leads a hands-on team, troubleshoots issues, and ensures tooling and setup readiness for new jobs.

The Team Leader collaborates with CNC Programmer, Scheduler/Planner, Quality, and Safety teams to meet customer and company requirements, while modeling Wenger principles of Initiative, Ingenuity and Integrity.

Qualifications

• Lead others across multiple shifts with strong people skills.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Solve problems and resolve conflicts in a machining environment.
• Develop self-management and continuous improvement mindset.
• Must be able to work varying shifts.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Work on complex parts from drawings, including one-offs and R&D.
• Support manufacturing engineer duties including Six-Sigma projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure team is following all safety policies and procedures.
• Drive a team environment and the Wenger operating principles across multiple work shifts.
• Make timely, critical and far-reaching decisions during a shift.
• Define standard work methods for the team and ensure team is performing across shifts to standard.
• Lead problem solving activities with the teams to continuously improve performance.
• Assist in the training and development of machinists, answering work questions, resolving operating difficulties, and reviewing completed work assignments.
• Utilize skills to protect against potential damage to all machines and take ownership of machinery area.
• Plan workload for future jobs to minimize downtime across shifts.
• Audit team members to standard work instructions and improve as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve abnormalities involving tooling, materials, programs, equipment and part specifications; coordinate maintenance.
• Document occurrence and resolution of abnormalities and problem solve to prevent recurrence.
