Job summary

Wenger is seeking a CNC Team Leader to oversee the machining area, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across shifts. The role includes troubleshooting, setup support, and collaboration with programmers, schedulers, and quality teams to meet customer and company requirements.

You will backfill leads as needed and participate in talent development, embodying Wenger's Initiative, Ingenuity and Integrity principles while driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing requirements.
• Lead and train machinists, answering work questions and resolving operating difficulties.
• Willingness to work across multiple shifts and manage self-development and growth.

Responsibilities

• Ensure team is following all safety policies and procedures.
• Drive a team environment and the Wenger operating principles across multiple work shifts.
• Make timely, critical and far-reaching decisions during a shift.
• Define standard work methods for the team and ensure consistency across shifts.
• Lead problem solving activities to continuously improve performance.
• Assist in training and development of machinists and review completed work assignments.
• Take ownership of the machining area and protect against potential machine damage.
• Plan workload for future jobs to minimize downtime across shifts.
• Audit team members against standard work instructions and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot tooling, materials, programs, equipment and part specifications and coordinate repairs.
• Document abnormalities and resolutions to prevent recurrence.
• Participate in inspections and data collection related to labor, equipment and materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
