Job summary

JCB North America is seeking a CNC Machining Group Leader in San Antonio, TX. This full-time role oversees the CNC machining department, drives continuous improvement, and ensures safety and quality across production.

You will lead daily manufacturing activities, coach team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet delivery targets. A strong background in CNC processes and Lean methods is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in manufacturing/engineering fields.
• Minimum eight years of CNC machining experience.
• At least three years in a supervisory/lead role.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily CNC machining operations to meet production goals.
• Supervise, coach, and develop team members for engagement and growth.
• Monitor performance, attendance, and adherence to SOPs.
• Promote a flexible, collaborative, results-driven environment.
• Facilitate daily team meetings and communicate priorities.
• Establish training programs for onboarding and cross-training.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly performance reports.
• Maintain visual management tools and performance boards.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and health & safety objectives.
• Identify Lean improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on quality and cost.
• Address employee concerns and cultivate a positive culture.

This position is responsible for leading and coordinating Team Members’ activities to achieve business goals through focusing on continuous improvement and promoting a team-based culture. The position is responsible for overseeing the performance of all CNC Machining Department functions.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

• Lead and direct daily CNC machining operations, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to meet production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Supervise, coach, and develop team members to promote engagement, accountability, skill development, and career growth.
• Manage individual and team performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Foster a flexible, collaborative, and results-driven work environment that supports teamwork and operational excellence.
• Facilitate daily team meetings to communicate priorities, review performance metrics, and encourage employee participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and maintain training programs to onboard new team members and support ongoing development and cross-training opportunities.
• Monitor departmental performance and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track key operational metrics.
• Develop and maintain visual management tools and performance boards to drive accountability and communication.
• Ensure all departmental activities are performed in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Champion workplace safety by maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment and supporting all Health & Safety objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements using Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to address quality, performance, and cost improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrate active listening and effective communication to address employee concerns and support a positive workplace culture.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
