Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a CNC Shop Supervisor to lead a skilled manufacturing team on the 2nd shift. The role requires setting up and operating CNC lathes, directing daily workflows, and ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of supervisory experience, CNC programming/operation skills, and the ability to read blueprints. You will coach staff, manage performance, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in CNC programming, CNC operation, and machining with ability to read blueprints.
Strong leadership to motivate, guide, and develop team members.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathe machines and manage full production cycle.
Oversee day-to-day department operations, safety, time-keeping and performance management.
Coach and evaluate employees to support development and productivity.
Assist onboarding and training of new staff, and ongoing skill development.
Expedite and prioritize shop orders to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Coordinate with management and other departments for smooth manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area with proactive safety practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
Address production or personnel issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
