Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate conventional and CNC machines, fabricating metallic and nonmetallic parts per drawings and process sheets. You will ensure parts meet quality specs with precision tools and actively look for process improvements.

The role emphasizes following safety guidelines, maintaining clean work areas, and meeting production schedules while using tooling, offsets, and fixtures. Experience with math and reading engineering docs is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machining techniques and methods.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings and use precision measuring tools.
• Proven math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to receive and execute written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Follow process sheets, install tooling, offsets, fixtures as specified.
• Ensure parts meet quality specs using precision instruments.
• Suggest improvements to fixtures, tooling or processes.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety procedures.
• Load programs or manage offsets as applicable.
