Job summary

Established Manufacturing Employer is seeking a CNC Set-Up Machinist for 2nd shift (2:30 PM–10:30 PM, M-F) and 3rd shift (10:30 PM–6:30 AM, Sun–Thu). Base rate $28.59/hour with shift differentials of $2 and $2.50 respectively.

You will set up, maintain, and troubleshoot CNC machines, read engineering drawings, and ensure precise part production. The role requires a machinist background, the ability to use calipers, micrometers, and indicators, and safe forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in machining or 5 years’ experience in machining.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow setup instructions and tool lists.
• Perform routine tooling setup and maintenance (drills, end mills, taps, reamers).
• Own basic machinist tools and know how to use them.
• Remove/install vises and fixtures accurately and safely.
• Maintain/service CNC machines (coolant, cleaning, filter changes).
• Operate CNC machining centers safely with minimal distractions.
• Troubleshoot CNC machining programs at a basic level.
• Calibrate measurement probes, tool setters, or setup equipment.
• Adjust tool/work offsets and set rotation on larger parts.
• Prepare material with provided equipment and machine precision parts timely.
• Operate forklift and other lifting equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple CNC machines.
• Work closely with Engineering to produce tooling for the facility.
• Ensure safe operation and proper calibration of CNC equipment.
