Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Set-Up Technician I to support product manufacturing by operating and maintaining CNC equipment and processes. You will set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and run programs across multiple machines, collaborating with technicians to ensure first article and quality targets.

The role requires strong mechanical/automation fundamentals, safety adherence, and a drive for continuous improvement. The 1st shift runs Mon-Thu, 5:00am–3:00pm at our West Bend, WI facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience or equivalent training in maintenance, mechanical, or technical field.
• High School or GED plus technical certification in mechanical, electrical, automation or related program.
• Able to read drawings and schematics with basic math and reasoning skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
• Proficient in interpreting technical data and using inspection/test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and maintain 6S for a safe, clean workplace.
• Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment including automation and sensors.
• Review programs on PLC and CNC equipment and update offsets as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and update maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose equipment and quality issues, and participate in root-cause analysis.
• Assist with minor equipment repairs and communicate issues to leadership.
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve productivity and quality.
• Monitor equipment cycles and ensure processes run within tolerances.
• Support other shifts when required and assist with training.
• Adhere to department policies and escalate issues to supervisors.
