Position:

CNC Set Up Operator (Both Shifts) First Shift Hours (M-F 6:00am to 2:30pm)
Second Shift Hours (M-Th 1:30pm to Midnight)

Job Description

Wisconsin Metal Tech, Inc., located in Richfield, WI, is a privately-owned, family-oriented custom machining company that develops and manufactures high-precision, critical-to-function components. This is accomplished through four key disciplines: material sourcing, unique process development, strategic business focus, and caring for our customers like partners. The company is embarking on an aggressive growth strategy that includes both organic and acquisition growth. Our CNC Set Up Operators play a vital role in executing this strategy.

Job Requirements:
  • Perform CNC operations: conduct all setup and quality operations in support of machining for oneself and others.
  • Set up and operate machines according to process sheets and other required paperwork (drawings, specifications, etc.).
  • Create, edit, and retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute them.
  • Use company documentation (blueprints, setup sheets, control plans) to manufacture products meeting quality standards.
  • Inspect and verify work prior to submission for inspection; handle non-conforming materials appropriately.
  • Meet time and schedule standards; communicate issues to supervision.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and disciplined processes, analyzing and changing processes as needed.
  • Document actions via production and quality logs.
  • Perform non-CNC tasks as needed: non-CNC equipment operation, hand-work, inspections, saw-cut operations, etc.
  • Calculate offset, compensation, and conditional switches; perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove part programs.
  • Maintain specifications through measurements, detecting malfunctions, and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across shifts.
Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience in CNC machining and setup.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with inspection gauges.
  • Strong understanding of G-code CNC programming, including formatting and editing.
  • Experience with Hass-type CNC equipment is a plus; ability to learn new techniques and cross-train.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Hass and Swiss machines preferred.
