Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a CNC Machine Set-Up Operator for 2nd and 3rd shifts. This direct hire position offers a competitive hourly wage and a comprehensive benefits package. CNC Machine Set-Up Operator

2ND AND 3RD SHIFT OPENINGS

DIRECT HIRE + GREAT BENEFITS PACKAGE

$18-24/hour plus shift differential!

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Read and interpret blueprints, shop orders, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets to establish work responsibilities.
  2. Set up and operate CNC machines to produce plastic parts according to specifications, tooling, instructions, and standards charts, applying knowledge of machine methods.
  3. Perform set-up and changeovers—select positions, secure tools in tool holders (chuck, collet, or tool post), and make proper settings on controls or fabricate plastic parts.
  4. Possess knowledge and ability to edit programs to improve cycle times; familiarity with G-Codes is required.
  5. Position and secure workpieces in holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures using clamps and wrenches.
  6. Use verniers, calipers, and tape measures to ensure parts comply with work orders and prints.
  7. Operate machinery in a safety-conscious manner, ensuring safety of self and others, in accordance with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) requirements.
  8. Record steps in the production process, including time, counts, operation/shop order numbers, materials used, and visual and dimensional characteristics.
  9. Collaborate with external customers and team members to improve quality and performance.
  10. Identify, resolve, and communicate job or machine problems.
  11. Ensure materials, secondary operation equipment, and scrap containers are staged appropriately.
  12. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  13. Perform preventive maintenance as required.
  14. Instruct or train others in machining techniques.
  15. Apply knowledge and experience to make process or improvement recommendations.
  16. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written work orders, instructions, and manuals.
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively with team members.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, and basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
