Job description

A well-established and highly respected machine tool and automation company is seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to support customers throughout the PNW Area and the surrounding regional territory. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technical professional with experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining CNC machinery and automated manufacturing equipment. The position involves frequent travel (up to 50%)

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced machining technologies while supporting customers across aerospace, medical device, semiconductor, precision manufacturing, and industrial automation industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-related issues on CNC machinery
  • Install, commission, and calibrate CNC machines and automated equipment at customer sites
  • Perform preventive maintenance and machine inspections to maximize uptime and reliability
  • Troubleshoot servo systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and CNC controls
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings
  • Support customers both on-site and remotely with technical troubleshooting and service needs
  • Maintain detailed service documentation and communicate findings clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Provide emergency support and rapid response to minimize customer downtime
  • Travel throughout the assigned regional territory to support customer sites
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC field service, machine tool repair, industrial maintenance, or automation support
  • Experience with CNC controls such as FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas, Mazak, or similar platforms
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills using multimeters and diagnostic equipment
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, servo drives, and motion control systems
  • Ability to perform machine alignments, ball screw repairs, and mechanical adjustments preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in field environments
