Job summary

Genuine Search Group is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC manufacturing equipment at customer sites. The role requires on-site work and travel, including extended trips, with a focus on high-precision mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of hands-on CNC maintenance, expertise with Fanuc or Siemens controls, and the ability to read schematics and train customers.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on CNC maintenance and service experience.
  • Strong expertise with Fanuc and/or Siemens CNC control systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and servo motors.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%, including trips lasting up to one week at a time.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and start‑up CNC machinery at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and evaluate system performance.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on machine operation and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot CNC control systems (Fanuc/Siemens) and interpret drawings.
  • Document service activities and submit detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to resolve issues.
  • Ensure safety standards and company procedures are followed.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in CNC maintenance and service to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced manufacturing equipment. This role requires a self-directed professional who is comfortable working on-site at customer facilities and traveling for extended periods (up to one week at a time).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, and start-up of CNC machinery at customer sites
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on CNC equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and system performance evaluations
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on proper machine operation and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot CNC control systems, including Fanuc and/or Siemens platforms
  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Document service activities, maintain accurate records, and submit detailed service reports
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures at all times

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6+ years of hands‑on CNC maintenance and service experience
  • Strong expertise with Fanuc and/or Siemens CNC control systems
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and servo motors
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
  • Experience working with multi‑axis CNC machines (mills, lathes, machining centers)
  • Familiarity with additional control systems or industrial automation platforms
  • Previous field service experience in a customer‑facing role

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent travel to customer sites, including industrial manufacturing environments
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in confined spaces as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
