Job description

Position: CNC Repair Technician
Employee Type: Full-Time (1st & 2nd shift)

This position's responsibility includes troubleshooting and repairing CNC machinery and components, which consist of electrical and mechanical components of the CNC equipment. Typical equipment includes 3, 4, 5 Axis Mills and vertical and horizontal turning machines. Other occasional building maintenance may be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as required
  • Troubleshooting production equipment failures and malfunctions
  • Testing and aiding in the implementation of equipment & equipment moves
  • Repairing hydraulic systems
  • Occasional welding/sheet metal fabrication
  • Basic electrical repair
  • Computer skills, placing POs for components and parts
  • Good housekeeping practices are a must
  • Knowledge of appropriate PPE and work practices to limit exposure to injury risks
  • Operating forklift and man lifts
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical CNC components.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machines: spindles, ball screws, bearings, guides, scales.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety standards, such as Lock out/Tag out, Hazardous waste spill/clean up
  • Capable of using standard repair tools, such as multimeters, welders, and standard hand tools.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret machine manuals and documentation.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, and bend.
  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Frequently exert up to 25 pounds of force.
  • Frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
