Position Overview
General Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in designing, developing, producing, supporting, and sustaining tracked and wheeled military equipment, including the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.
In this position, you will support all production processes, create new production processes, and work on prototype projects prior to production. Managing budgets effectively is critical. Extensive experience in CNC programming and modeling, with CREO experience as a plus, is required.
Responsibilities
- Access and navigate DNC software to create programs and load them into CNC machines.
- Access and navigate Oracle to find tooling and components.
- Access and navigate computer systems to locate part and assembly drawings.
- Create basic Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with formulas.
- Prepare basic PowerPoint presentations.
- Communicate progress and obstacles via email.
- Write work instructions.
- Develop and establish manufacturing processes, primarily machining.
- Design work holding devices in 3D CAD.
- Create 2D drawings from 3D models.
- Select tooling, feeds, and speeds for machining materials like aluminum and armor.
- Write CNC machine tool programs using CAM systems for 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7-axis machines.
- Establish assembly processes and procedures.
- Implement continuous improvement ideas.
- Perform other duties as required.

- PTC Creo 5 for 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
- Predator for DNC storage and communication.
- Oracle for business software.
- Gibbs CAM for CNC programming.
- HMS CAPP for work instructions.
- Microsoft Office suite for documentation and communication.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma minimum; associate degree in engineering preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in CNC machining; 3-5 years in CNC programming working with metals.
- Proficiency with email, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and 3D CAD software (Creo experience as a plus).
- Experience with 3D modeling software; Pro-E (Creo) experience preferred.
- Strong personal time management and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be a US Person.
