Job summary

Hutchinson Industries, Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer & Setup Operator to create CNC programs and set up production runs.

The goal is to shorten cycle times while maintaining part quality and safety, including running first pieces and training production staff for larger orders. The ideal candidate has substantial CNC programming and operation experience, understands mill and lathe tooling, and demonstrates strong attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with shop tools.
• Proven mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work with manual machining equipment.
• Demonstrated maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• CNC mill/lathe experience required; training or certification in CNC programming preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail for creating CNC programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Create new CNC Programs for production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and repair process equipment.
• Complete records for work performed.
• Participate in risk assessments and review annually.
• Follow environmental, health and safety rules and report hazards.
• Complete fixture changes.
• Run and inspect first piece; document inspection with Quality.
• Modify fixtures as required.
• Cross-train with maintenance on manual machining.
