Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, is seeking a CNC Programmer/Operator in Baton Rouge to set up and program CNC machines, including mills and lathes, and maintain tight tolerances on parts. You will follow written and verbal procedures, work from routings and prints, and adapt machine parameters under supervision.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of CNC programming and operation experience, reads technical drawings, and can work independently with good problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with a technical school education and working machinist knowledge or equivalent.
• Prefers someone with Mill and Lathe experience.
• Minimum 3 years of CNC machine tool Programming & Operating experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, write programs and edit existing programs for NC machinery.
• Operate lathes, mills, drills and other CNC equipment.
• Maintain quality and tolerances within .0003” and follow procedures.
