Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join the team in Simi Valley, CA. You will own projects, program and machine, and handle setup for 3–5 axis CNC systems as needed.

Qualifications include 5+ years in CAM programming (MasterCam, Surfcam, or HSM), 5+ years in setup and operation, and strong G/M-code editing skills with multi-axis experience. Familiarity with Haas or Fanuc controls and SolidWorks EPDM is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CAM programming experience with MasterCam, Surfcam, or HSM.
• 5+ years as machine setup/operator.
• Strong editing knowledge of G- and M-codes.
• Experience with multi-axis and 3D machining.
• Experience with 5th axis milling or multi-task machines.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
• Program, setup and operate CNC multi-axis milling and turning machines.
• Design and implement fixtures and workholding methods.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust during manufacturing.
• Perform quality inspections during and after manufacturing.
• Analyze data to identify optimal manufacturing solutions and standardize procedures.
• Plan sequencing and execution of complex, multi-stage projects with limited guidance.
• Coordinate with engineering and research teams to optimize workflows.
• Ensure measurement, testing, and documentation meet specifications.
• Maintain property of shop environment and safety processes.
