Job summary

Sonaca North America in Auburn, Washington seeks a CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will develop and optimize multi-axis CNC programs for aerospace components, collaborate with engineering and operations, and ensure programs meet prints, cycles, and quality standards.

The role requires 3–5 years with MasterCam, Catia V5/6 experience, and strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills. Travel up to 10% is possible; knowledge of G and M codes is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience with MasterCam.
• Experience programming with Catia V5/6; NX a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of machining experience.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Knowledge of G codes, M codes, cutter comps, offsets, etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Run Instructions, Setup Sheets and Tool Lists for parts being programmed.
• Pulling files from Catia; Reviews 3D CAD blueprints.
• Create 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC mill programs.
• Update repeat jobs to current internal standards and latest engineering revision.
• Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests.
• Chooses cutting tools; calculates proper Feeds and Speeds.
• Analyze operation sequence to optimize machine time and setup.
• Writes programs using Post Processors and edits existing ones.
• Proof out programs with operator support; ensure parts meet prints.
• Collaborate with quality to ensure acceptable FAI and with Engineering.
