Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. in New Hampshire is seeking a CNC Programmer I to develop, troubleshoot, and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for low to medium complexity parts.

This entry-level position leverages prior CNC experience under mentorship to create efficient processes in production and prototyping. Responsibilities include designing CNC processes, estimating cycle times and tooling costs, setting up and proving programs, and documenting setup sheets and tool lists.

Qualifications

  • 5 years minimum of CNC machine setup or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year minimum of CNC machine programming utilizing a CAD/CAM system.
  • Proficient understanding of G&M Code.
  • Basic knowledge of Fanuc Macro B CNC programming.
  • Basic knowledge of a CAD software design system to create/edit solid models.
  • Experience interpreting part drawings with GD&T.
  • Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create CNC manufacturing processes for machined components using CAD/CAM software.
  • Provide cycle time and tooling cost estimates for new products to Engineering.
  • With guidance, setup and prove-out new programs, diagnose and troubleshoot quality or process issues.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced Programmers, Operators, and Set-up Technicians for process issues.
  • Identify tooling and ordering needs to complete jobs and suggest alternatives for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Create toolpath operations and set cutting tool parameters based on material and setup conditions.
  • Develop fixture/workholding as needed to process jobs effectively.
  • Create setup sheets, tool lists, and production documentation.
  • Suggest design improvements for manufacturability and cycle time reduction.
