Job summary

Confident Search Consultants is seeking a CNC Programmer to join a manufacturing client in Farmington, CT. You will program CNC equipment for sheet metal fabrication, interpret drawings, select tooling, and design fixtures while establishing routings and continuously improving processes.

The role also includes cost estimating and quoting support for sales, ensuring manufacturability of drawings, and coordinating shipping documentation to meet on-time delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated CNC programming experience in sheet metal fabrication.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, tooling, and materials.

Responsibilities

• CNC programming and manufacturing support across laser cutting, punching, press brake, and other sheet metal equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and customer specs to determine manufacturing requirements.
• Select tooling, materials, and production methods to improve efficiency and minimize waste.
• Design manufacturing fixtures as needed and establish manufacturing routings per standards.
• Troubleshoot issues with production personnel to improve processes.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates based on material, labor, machine time, and outside services.
• Review customer drawings for manufacturability and define production requirements.
• Coordinate and prepare packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping docs; schedule carrier pickups.
