Job summary

JBT Machining in Minnesota is seeking a CNC Machinist to program, set up, and produce parts to exact specifications while maintaining quality and efficiency. You will review programs before production and assist with any programming issues impacting output.

Applicants should bring a mechanical background, experience with CNC equipment, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This role includes comprehensive benefits and a daytime shift.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
• Provide front-end reviews of programs before production to identify issues and improvements.
• Troubleshoot and assist operators when programming issues impact production and/or quality.
• Complete accurate daily records for each job in Shop Travelers and the ERP system.
• Follow JBT Machining documentation and blueprints.

Job description

• Safely conduct all tasks and behaviors and comply with all JBT Machining Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the Safety Manual.
• Coordinate with the Estimation department to provide initial reviews of upcoming jobs and provide feedback, as needed, on potential concerns.
• Coordinate with the Engineering department on any special fixture or other engineering needs for upcoming jobs.
• Coordinate toolingand any special tooling needs for upcoming jobs.
• Program, set up, and produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
• Provide front-end reviews of programs before production, to identify potential issues to address and/or improvements to increase efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and assistoperators when programming issues impact production and/or quality.
• Complete accurate daily records(date, time, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
• Follow instructions from all JBT Machining documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
• Inform the quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
• Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections.
• Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and immediately report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead.
• Maintain the assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all procedures.
• Maintain all required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to routinely bend and squat
• Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Wage Range: $25.00 - $40.00/hour (depending on experience)

Shift: 1st (Monday-Thursday: 6am-4:30pm, Friday: 6am-11am)
