Job summary

JBT Machining Inc. in Anoka, MN is seeking a CNC Machinist capable of programming, setting up, and producing parts to exact specifications. The role requires careful quality checks, adherence to safety policies, and effective front-end review of programs before production.

You will troubleshoot programming issues, maintain accurate daily records, follow documentation, and collaborate with maintenance and shift leads to ensure smooth, efficient operation. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications.
• Provide front-end reviews of programs before production to identify issues.
• Troubleshoot and assist operators when programming issues impact production or quality.
• Maintain accurate daily records of parts ran, times, and scrap in ERP and Shop Travelers.
• Follow Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.

Job description

• Safely conduct all tasks and behaviors and comply with all JBT Machining Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the Safety Manual.
• Coordinate with the Estimation department to provide initial reviews of upcoming jobs and provide feedback, as needed, on potential concerns.
• Coordinate with the Engineering department on any special fixture or other engineering needs for upcoming jobs.
• Coordinate toolingand any special tooling needs for upcoming jobs.
• Program, set up, and produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
• Provide front-end reviews of programs before production, to identify potential issues to address and/or improvements to increase efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and assistoperators when programming issues impact production and/or quality.
• Complete accurate daily records(date, time, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
• Follow instructions from all JBT Machining documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
• Inform the quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
• Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections.
• Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and immediately report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead.
• Maintain the assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all procedures.
• Maintain all required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to routinely bend and squat
• Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Wage Range: $25.00 - $40.00/hour (depending on experience)

Shift: 1st (Monday-Thursday: 6am-4:30pm, Friday: 6am-11am)
