Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC is seeking a CNC operator in Minnesota to load, program, and run parts on 3- or 5-axis machines. You will read blueprints, follow shop travelers and inspection sheets, and ensure parts meet specifications and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will maintain accurate records, perform routine maintenance, and participate in a culture of safety and teamwork with strong adherence to 5S and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machining and reading blueprints.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Capability to multitask on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Check with lead on machine and job assignment.
• Produce parts on CNC machines per specs and production requirements.
• Unload and package parts per standards and customer needs.
• Maintain accurate daily records (date, times, quantities, scrap) for each job.
• Follow all JBT Machining documents (Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, blueprints).
• Inform quality control and shift supervisor of any issues with parts.
• Ensure product/service quality and perform required inspections.
• Perform preventive maintenance and monitor for abnormal conditions; report concerns promptly.
• Keep work area clean and 5S compliant.
• Work safely per PPE and safety policies; maintain necessary documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Check with designated lead person on machine assignment and job assignment.
• Produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
• Unload and package parts according to JBT Machining standards and customer requirements.
• Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
• Follow instructions from all JBT Machining documentation, including: Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
• Inform quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
• Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections.
• Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead immediately.
• Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all 5S procedures.
• Conduct all tasks and behaviors in a safe manner and comply with all JBT Machining Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Maintain all required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Gibbs, MC, Fusion, Conversational experience preferred.
• 3axis, 5axis, and pallet systems.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving and attention to detail.
• The ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects.

Wage Range: $22.00 - $33.00/hour (depending on experience)

Shift: 1st (Monday-Thursday: 6am-4:30pm, Friday: 6am-11am)
