The role requires converting design criteria into machine requirements and developing complex programs for lathes, mills, and EDM equipment. The position emphasizes proficiency in CAD/CAM software, ERP data handling, and collaboration with manufacturing engineers.

Qualifications

• One year certificate or equivalent experience in CNC programming.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and ERP data handling.
• Ability to read specifications and translate to machine settings.

Responsibilities

• Performs CNC programming for production equipment and transfers design criteria to machine requirements.
• Develops complex or revised CNC programs for lathes, mills, and EDM with 3-axis capability.
• Utilizes CNC parameters, machine functions, and math for 3-axis programming.
• Plans machining sequences, tooling, and cycles for optimum conditions.
• Creates new program routines for efficient 3-axis machining operations.
• Reviews tooling methods and considers new materials to reduce time and cost.
• Prepares shop process manuals and participates in program validation.
• Communicates with engineers, plant personnel and external contacts.
