Job summary

American BOA, Inc. is seeking a CNC Programmer to collaborate with machinists and engineers to optimize programs and procedures.

This role involves generating and maintaining programs for 3- and 4-axis mills, lathes, and wire EDM using Esprit and FeatureCam; selecting tools; setting speeds/feeds; and improving manufacturability. The candidate will read G-code, work independently on projects through all stages, and contribute to process improvements while meeting productivity targets.

Qualifications

• 2 years of CNC programming experience using FeatureCam or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret G-code
• Understanding of best machining practices
• Proficient with measuring devices: micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Maintain neat and orderly work area to ensure efficiency and no safety hazards
• Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Skilled enough to generally work independently on each assigned project through all aspects
• Familiar with First Article and In-process Inspection
• Diploma or Certification from technical school preferred
• Familiar with Haas mill and lathe
• Familiar with Mitsubishi wire EDM

Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain programs and setup sheets for 3- and 4-axis CNC mills, lathes, and wire EDM.
• Select tools for machining complex parts in steel, copper, and nickel alloys.
• Define and adjust speeds and feeds for tool life in challenging applications.
• Suggest drawing changes to improve manufacturability and CNC program strategy.
• Design and machine fixtures as needed.
• Meet expectations for productivity and production goals.
• Provide feedback and ideas for process improvements.
