• Write CNC programs in ESPRIT EDGE from customer 3D models and 2D drawings for mill-turn, 5-axis and 3-axis work.
• Plan the process: operation sequence, setups, work holding, tool selection, and speeds and feeds.
• Program B-axis and simultaneous multi-axis toolpaths, and synchronize main and sub spindle work on the Mori Seiki NT machines.
• Simulate and verify every program before it goes to the machine, checking for collisions and over-travel, and confirming cycle time.
• Make setup sheets and tool lists that the operators can follow.
• Optimize programs to cut cycle time, extend tool life and improve surface finish.
• Work with machinists over video call or chat to prove out new programs and fix problems.
• Help estimate cycle times for quotes.

JEP Manufacturing is a precision CNC machine shop near Houston, Texas. We make complex, close-tolerance parts for aerospace, oil & gas and industrial customers. We're hiring an experienced CNC programmer to work remotely with our shop floor team and program our multi-axis machines in ESPRIT EDGE.

Our Machines

• Mori Seiki NT series: 9-axis multitasking turning centers with B-axis milling head, main and sub spindle
• Kitamura horizontal 5-axis machining centers
• Kitamura vertical 3-axis machining centers

Key Responsibilities

• Write CNC programs in ESPRIT EDGE from customer 3D models and 2D drawings for mill-turn, 5-axis and 3-axis work

Required Skills

• Hands-on ESPRIT EDGE experience is mandatory. Please describe it in your application.
• At least 3 years of CNC programming experience, including multitasking mill-turn and 5-axis
• Strong knowledge of B-axis mill-turn programming, preferably on Mori Seiki / DMG MORI NT machines
• Experience with horizontal machining centers, 4th/5th axis and tombstone or pallet work
• Fluent in G-code and M-code, able to edit and troubleshoot posted code (Fanuc / MAPPS controls preferred)
• Able to read engineering drawings, including GD&T
• Solid understanding of cutting tools, materials (steels, stainless, nickel alloys, aluminum) and machining strategies
• Good written and spoken English
• Reliable high-speed internet and a computer that can run ESPRIT EDGE

Preferred

• Experience in aerospace or oil & gas parts machining
• Experience editing or tuning ESPRIT post processors
• Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 documentation
• Experience with Mori Seiki and Kitamura machines

Working Hours

Remote, 40 hours per week. Time should be in sync with Texas shop operating hours ( 6 am - 3 pm Central Time)
