Job summary

UmbraGroup-Thomson Aerospace & Defense (Linear Motion, LLC) is seeking a skilled CNC programmer to create, approve, edit and qualify programs for 4–6 axis aerospace machining, including detailed work instructions and configurations using Siemens NX and Esprit CAD-CAM.

The role requires strong math, GD&T understanding and blueprint reading, with the ability to simulate, verify, and optimize programs on modern tooling. On-site in Michigan; ITAR compliance is required.

Qualifications

• ITAR: must be a U.S. Person.
• Associate degree in CNC programming or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer programming or related field.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify and optimize CNC programs.
• Model and simulate programs for 4–6 axis machining.
• Read blueprints and GD&T tolerances accurately.
• Select tools and speeds, and verify with simulations.
• Collaborate with engineers and clients to ensure quality.
• Train clients on automated systems and ensure safety compliance.
