JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the CNC Programmer is to perform maintenance and modifications to current programs to keep them responsive to user needs and to ensure efficient operations in the production area of our custom fabrication shop. The Programmer will also work on developing programs to control the machining and processing of new plastic and metal parts as the Company continues to grow and expand!

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Edit multi-part CNC programs as required to ensure maximum efficiency in the production area, considering input from team members on how to maximize efficiency
  • Create new multi-part programs as needed for various machines in the production area
  • Assist with machining as needed
  • Coordinate with the execution engineering team as well as production staff
  • Follow production and programming schedules to ensure on-time deliveries to our customers
  • Inspect own work and the work of others to ensure quality standards are being met or exceeded
  • Train and assist others as required
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Work overtime when required to support customer and internal demand
  • Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of machining experience (preferably with Komo and HAAS routers and HAAS/MAZAK mills)
  • Ability to run all machines in the assigned work center (HAAS VF2/VF3, MAZAK/VTC-300, CNC and manual)
  • 2 years of CNC programming experience
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of SolidWorks, GibbsCAM and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to understand and edit CNC programs as required
  • Able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)
  • Able to read engineering documents and drawings without assistance
  • Able to take direction, well with others and be an active team member

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent (preferred)
  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience
  • Previous experience in multi-part/multi-component CNC programming
