Job description

Job Summary: Program, set up, and operate as a backup for production, if required. This includes CNC laser machines, multi-spindle drills, drill/routing machines, turret presses, and machining centers such as VMC and PDA, following work instructions, setup sheets, blueprints, process travelers, and verbal instructions. Support the Toolmaker functions as needed.

1. Program, set up, and operate CNC-controlled laser machines, drill machines, drill/routing machines, turret presses, inkjet printers, and machining centers.
2. Establish part-specific programs, including defining process and machine settings.
3. Write and maintain setup sheets and logs for each part number.
4. Verify product quality using optical and mechanical measuring machines, gauge pins, calipers, and micrometers.
5. Monitor machines and products to ensure processes operate within established specification limits.
6. Maintain cleanliness of the workstation.
7. Perform short-term preventative maintenance on machines.
8. Provide backup support for the Toolmaker functions as required.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Competencies:

• Understanding of CAM/CNC programming; MasterCam experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of manufacturing software, project management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, reading blueprints, process travelers, and operating optical and mechanical measuring equipment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of quality requirements.
• Knowledge of safety regulations relevant to the job.

Education and/or Experience: An associate's degree or technical certificate in machine tools or CNC programming is required, with 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
