Job summary

Orion Castings in North Billerica, MA is seeking entry-level CNC operators to join our on-site production team. You will learn on the job, perform basic measurement checks, and operate CNC equipment safely on the factory floor.

We provide hands-on training, CNC coursework reimbursement, and clear advancement into specialized machining, quality, or engineering roles. Shifts available: 1st and 2nd with four 10-hour days; base wage and shift premiums reflect experience and shift.

Qualifications

• No prior machining background required; training provided on the job.
• Willingness to learn CNC operations and measurement checks.
• Comfort with basic math and accurate measurement.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment safely and load/unload parts.
• Use gauges and measurement tools and keep inspection records.
• Maintain production pace to meet output targets.
• Identify tooling, material, or machine issues and escalate.
• Follow OSHA and safety policies and assist with housekeeping.

Schedules Available

• 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Four 10-hour shifts)
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday | 4:00 PM – 3:30 AM (Four 10-hour shifts)

Compensation & Shift Breakdown

• 1st Shift Target Range: $17.00 – $26.25 / hour (Base wage based on experience)
• 2nd Shift Target Range: $18.70 – $28.88 / hour (Reflects the $17.00 – $26.25 base wage + a 10% shift premium)

What You’ll Do

• Operate CNC equipment safely, loading and unloading parts with care.
• Use basic gauges and measurement tools to check parts and keep clear inspection records (we’ll train you).
• Keep production on pace to meet required output and workflow targets.
• Identify and elevate issues such as worn tooling, material defects, or machine variations to your supervisor.
• Follow detailed work instructions and comply with all OSHA and Orion Castings safety policies.
• Support general production and housekeeping tasks as needed.
