Job summary

Maitland Engineering LLC in Indiana is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations in our precision machining facility. The Production Manager will ensure production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are met while maximizing efficiency and profitability.

This leadership role requires strong experience in machine shop operations, employee management, scheduling, continuous improvement, and customer-focused manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production management in CNC/precision manufacturing.
• Experience in medical, aerospace, defense, or high-precision sectors.
• Experience in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct daily production activities to meet customer requirements and on-time delivery goals.
• Manage production schedules, manpower allocation, and workflow throughout the facility.
• Supervise and develop department supervisors, CNC machinists, setup technicians.
• Monitor production performance, efficiencies, quality metrics, and labor utilization.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Shipping departments.
• Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage capacity planning and staffing requirements based on customer demand.
• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and resolving production challenges.
• Lead scheduling meetings and communicate priorities throughout the organization.
• Support customer audits and maintain quality management requirements.
• Control labor costs, overtime, and departmental budgets.
• Foster a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
