Job summary

Accelera in Wheeling, IL seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to lead and optimize manufacturing operations. You will oversee setup, tooling, fixturing, programming, and machine operation across mills and lathes, ensuring quality and on-time production.

You will translate complex drawings and GD&T, mentor operators, maintain production logs, and manage tool stock. Proficiency with Fanuc controls, G-code and M-code is required; CAD/CAM tools like SolidWorks and Mastercam are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in engineering is a plus.
• Minimum three years CNC machining experience.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc, G-code and M-code.
• Experience operating vertical/horizontal milling centers and lathes.
• CAD/CAM familiarity with SolidWorks and Mastercam valued.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the machining team to boost output quality and operational efficiency.
• Manage the full scope of CNC activities, including setup, tooling, fixturing, gaging, programming, and machine operation.
• Analyze and translate complex part drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Provide mentorship to CNC operators to ensure mastery of processes.
• Direct the daily activities of the CNC production staff to ensure workflow continuity.
• Keep accurate production logs, quality documentation, and manage tool stock levels.
