Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking an engineer to develop processes, define controls, and drive variability reduction on the manufacturing floor, performing daily audits and updating procedures to reduce process variation.

You will lead data analysis, run engineering trials, support cost reduction and NPI teams, and interface with all levels of manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. Hands-on problem solving and PFMEA/Control Plan familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related Engineering.
• New grads with G-Code / NC programming experience welcomed.
• G-Code experience required.
• MasterCam experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in the airfoils investment casting industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop processes, define controls, and institute effective variability reduction efforts in manufacturing areas.
• Perform daily audits to ensure procedures are being followed on the manufacturing floor.
• Update/revise area procedures to ensure clarity and reduce the opportunity for process variation.
• Perform data analysis to identify and control process excursions.
• Continuously evaluations/improves processes in order to maintain or improve upon budgeted yields.
• Perform engineering trials to evaluate improvements to processes, tools, and equipment.
• Participates in cost reduction, continuous improvement and new part introduction (NPI) teams, as needed.
• Drive process and improvement initiatives.
• Continuously improves processes to reduce scrap.
• Initiate and interface with all levels of manufacturing, management, suppliers and customers.
• Provide hands on, floor level investigations and problem solving.
• Other duties as assigned.
