Job summary

LOOS & CO., INC. is seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize production processes on the manufacturing floor in Pomfret, CT.

You will apply engineering principles to improve process capability, quality, throughput, and cost while partnering with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, lead root-cause analysis, and implement practical solutions across tooling, equipment, and process parameters to ensure safe, efficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of process, manufacturing, or production engineering experience preferred.
• Experience supporting machining or other equipment-intensive manufacturing processes strongly preferred.
• CNC machining and/or screw machine experience preferred, including setup, tooling, parameters, cycle-time optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, document, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, equipment, and work instructions.
• Maintain an active presence on the production floor to understand conditions, troubleshoot problems, and support teams.
• Analyze production performance (cycle time, scrap, downtime, yield, throughput) to identify opportunities.
• Lead structured problem-solving and root cause analysis; implement corrective actions.
• Optimize machine settings, tooling, process parameters, and material flow to improve productivity and quality.
• Support CNC and other machining operations, including evaluation of capability and cycle times.
• Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Develop and maintain standard work, process specifications, and other manufacturing documentation.
