Job summary

BorgWarner in Seneca, SC is seeking a machinist to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to produce complex metallic parts to exact tolerances.

The role requires standing for long periods, following safety policies, reading blueprints, and using calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to verify parts. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required; basic skills assessment may be used.
• 6 months of related experience preferred.
• Experience in fast paced industrial lean environment is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret gear charts; basic math and fractions desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (2-6 axes).
• Set up and adjust fixtures, cutting tools, and offsets.
• Follow work instructions and process sheets; maintain quality within SPC.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions for governing tolerances.
• Read blueprints and specs to determine dimensions and setup requirements.
• Verify finished workpiece to specifications using measuring tools.
