Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a CNC Post Processor & Simulation Developer to design and optimize CNC software, post-processors, and virtual simulators. You will collaborate across teams, troubleshoot OT networks, and support Smart Factory initiatives.

The role requires advanced CNC programming knowledge, CAD/CAM tool experience, and the ability to mentor junior engineers. DOE security clearance is a consideration for this position.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering/science/IT or related field.
Several years of education/experience aligned with DOE security requirements.
Experience with CNC post-processor development and G-code troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming concepts.

Responsibilities

Build, optimize, validate, and maintain CNC software including custom post-processors and simulators.
Collaborate with programmers, machinists, engineers, and maintenance teams.
Provide troubleshooting for OT networks, servers, and PC connectivity.
Lead Smart Factory initiatives and CNC installation projects.
Represent IT in daily production meetings; mentor junior developers.
