Job summary

CoorsTek in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a CNC Set-Up Specialist to independently set up, troubleshoot and improve CNC machining operations for precision components. You will adjust programs, tooling and parameters to ensure quality, repeatability, and throughput within defined process limits.

The role requires strong G-code/M-code understanding, blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency, plus experience with CAM software and lean improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of CNC setup and programming basics.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T to validate dimensions.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC equipment and setup optimization.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate CNC equipment for production and prototyping.
• Adjust programs, tooling and parameters to maintain quality and throughput.
• Support tooling selection, fixture setup, and machining strategies.
• Perform precision inspections and validate dimensional compliance.
• Document setup procedures and participate in continuous improvement.
