Job summary

Sketch Events is seeking a CNC Operator to fabricate scenic and structural components for events and environments in our Las Vegas studio. The role focuses on machine operation, material handling, and routine maintenance with attention to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC routers in a scenic, exhibit, or custom fabrication shop.
• Ability to read job packets, setup sheets, and drawings to fabricate parts.
• Comfortable working with wood, foam, plastic, and other common fabrication materials.
• 1–3 years experience operating CNC machinery in a production or fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC routers to cut materials safely and efficiently.
• Set up machines for each job, including securing materials, loading tooling, and loading files.
• Interpret work orders, setup sheets, and drawings to ensure accurate part fabrication.
• Monitor machine operations and make on-the-fly adjustments to maintain quality and prevent downtime.
• Handle raw materials and finished parts, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines and changing bits.
• Assist with unloading, staging, and post-processing of cut parts.
• Support other departments in collaboration with carpentry, graphics, and fabrication teams.
• Follow direction from the CNC Manager, and senior department members.
