Job summary

Sight & Sound is seeking a production technician to operate CNC routers, hot wires, and laser cutters. You will collaborate with artists, engineers, and carpenters to plan build methods for scenic elements and program toolpaths using CAM software.

The role also covers 3D printing setup, printing file preparation for cloud workflows, and routine machine maintenance. Eligible candidates will have CAD/CAM experience, 3D printing know-how, and basic programming skills, with a comfort level in

Qualifications

Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools and CAD software for programming toolpaths.
Experience with 3D printing processes and maintenance.
Familiarity with CNC machinery including routers and hot wires.
Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry is helpful for part design.
Basic programming knowledge is helpful for automation.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC routers, hot wires, and laser cutter.
Collaborate with artists, engineers, and carpenters to plan break down and construction methods for scenic elements.
Use CAM software to program toolpaths for CNC machines.
Program, run, and maintain all 3D printing capabilities for the production team.
Prepare 3D print files for cloud-based printing workflows.
Perform regular inspections and maintenance on machines.
Maintain an organized and safe shop space.
