Job summary

API Heat Transfer in Racine, WI is hiring a CNC Operator for the first shift (5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.). The role focuses on set‑up, programming, and operation of CNC Lathe/Barfeeder and CNC Milling Center, with emphasis on tool setting, offsets, inspection and preventive maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience. We offer day‑1 health benefits, generous PTO, 11 paid holidays, and competitive pay based on experience, plus quarterly attendance

Responsibilities

• Set up, programming and operate CNC Lathe/Barfeeder and CNC Milling Center.
• Tool setting, fixture setup, offsets, inspection, and operator maintenance.
• Follow safety policies and API Heat Transfer procedures.
• Comply with ISO 9001 Quality Standards at API Heat Transfer.

What You Will Do:

The CNC Operator requirements include but are not limited to the set-up, programming and operation of the following machinery:

• CNC Lathe / Barfeeder: tool setting, fixture set-up, making offsets, inspection, operator preventative maintenance.
• CNC Milling Center: tool setting, fixture set up, making offsets, inspection, operator preventative maintenance.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with all API Heat Transfer policies for behavior within the workplace.
• Comply with all the ISO 9001 Quality Standards, policies, and procedures of API Heat Transfer.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with two years minimum of related combined experience.
• Basic set up experience on lathes and/or Machining centers.
• Ability to read and alter programs.
• Understand basic G and M codes.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing:
  
  Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
• Walking:
  
  Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
• Lifting and Carrying:
• Regularly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
• Pushing and Pulling:
  
  Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
• Repetitive Motions:
  
  Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
• Manual Dexterity:
  
  Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
• Climbing:
  
  Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
• Visual and Hearing Requirements:
• Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges.
• Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
• Environmental Tolerance:
• Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions).
• Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
