Job summary

API Heat Transfer in Buffalo, NY seeks a dedicated Machine Repair Technician for 2nd shift. You will install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain plant equipment, while diagnosing issues and planning efficient repairs with minimal supervision.

The role requires 5+ years of machine repair experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and comfort with reading machine prints. Benefits include health, 401(k), and PTO, with multi-site opportunities.

Qualifications

• Work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain machines/equipment throughout the plant.
• Diagnose trouble, determine repair methods, install, plan layout, move and complete work with minimal supervision.
• Work from construction and machine design prints; perform shop math; use necessary tools.
• Perform general maintenance as directed by supervisor.

Duties:

• Requires the ability to install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain in operating condition various machines and equipment throughout the plant.
• Also must be able to diagnose trouble, determine methods of repair, make installations, plan layout, move and complete work on machines or equipment with minimum of supervision.
• Must have knowledge of construction and machine design prints, shop mathematics and a minimum of 5 years experience in this type of work. Have necessary standard tools.
• Work close tolerances as required and make simple parts if needed. Will do general maintenance functions as required at the direction of the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School degree or equivalent (required)
• 2-5 years Machine Repair experience (required)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Constant standing/walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and reaching
• Ascending/descending ladder, scaffolding, or stairs
• Grasping, manipulating, or assembling objects with hands/fingers
• Clear vision (near/far/peripheral) and hearing for safety
• Must have necessary standard tools
