Job summary

API Heat Transfer in Racine, WI is hiring a CNC Operator for the 1st shift (5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.). You will set up, program, and operate CNC Lathe and Milling Center with barfeeders, ensuring quality and on-time production.

Ideal candidates have basic G and M code knowledge, can read blueprints, and demonstrate setup experience on lathes or machining centers. Health benefits begin day one, with PTO and holiday pay and quarterly bonuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least two years of related experience.
• Basic setup experience on lathes and/or machining centers.
• Ability to read and modify programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC Lathe/Barfeeder and CNC Milling Center.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and API Heat Transfer rules.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 quality standards and procedures.
• Inspect parts and perform offset adjustments as needed.

What You Will Do:

The CNC Operator

Requirements include but are not limited to the set-up, programming and operation of the following machinery:

• CNC Lathe / Barfeeder: tool setting, fixture set-up, making offsets, inspection, operator preventative maintenance.
• CNC Milling Center: tool setting, fixture set up, making offsets, inspection, operator preventative maintenance.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with all API Heat Transfer policies for behavior within the workplace.
• Comply with all the ISO 9001 Quality Standards, policies, and procedures of API Heat Transfer.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with two years minimum of related combined experience.
• Basic set up experience on lathes and/or Machining centers.
• Ability to read and alter programs.
• Understand basic G and M codes.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Physical Requirements:

1. Standing:
   Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
2. Walking:
   Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
3. Lifting and Carrying:

• Regularly lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.

1. Pushing and Pulling:
   Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
2. Repetitive Motions:
   Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
3. Manual Dexterity:
   Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
4. Climbing:
   Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
5. Visual and Hearing Requirements:

• Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges.
• Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.

1. Environmental Tolerance:

• Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions).
• Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
